Straight answers, especially about tracking

Opens, engaged reading time (only while the page is visible, focused, and the reader is actually interacting — an open tab in the background counts nothing), which tagged sections were read and for how long, returning visits, comments left on the page, and a scored signal when someone new opens a link that was minted for someone else (a likely forward). Bot and email-scanner traffic is detected and bucketed separately so it never inflates your numbers.

Which link you opened (links are per-person, so the sender knows who they sent it to), when, roughly where from (city level — IP addresses are truncated before storage, never kept whole), what sections you read and for how long, and any comment you choose to leave. No name, no email, no account — Dealpages never knows who you are unless you type it into a comment. If your browser sends the Global Privacy Control signal, no persistent identifier is set at all. Every tracked page carries a visible disclosure line.

Yes — every published page includes a small "This page uses engagement analytics" notice. We think tracking people silently is a bad trade for a tool whose whole point is trust between a seller and a buyer.

Pages are unlisted — the URL is a long unguessable token, never indexed (every page ships with noindex). For more control you can password-protect a page, set an expiry date, or unpublish it instantly (reversible). What we deliberately don't offer: forcing your reader to log in or enter their email. Buyers never need an account.

Anything that speaks MCP over Streamable HTTP — claude.ai (web and desktop, sign in with your email, no key), Claude Code, ChatGPT via developer-mode connectors, Codex via config.toml, and any other client that supports either a bearer header or OAuth sign-in. Nothing right now — it's a free beta while the product finds its shape. Pricing isn't decided yet; when it is, existing users get notice well before anything is charged, and your pages don't vanish. If pricing shape matters to your decision, say what would work for you — that input genuinely steers it.

Not yet — pages live on pages.dealpages.app. Custom domains are on the list; if it's a dealbreaker for you, say so, that's exactly the signal that moves it up.

Pages, versions, and engagement events live in a Cloudflare-hosted database. Unpublishing takes a page offline immediately; deleting a page from your account erases its versions, links, comments and engagement history; raw request logs are pruned after 90 days and fine-grained engagement events after 180. The full picture is on the privacy notice. Want an account erased entirely? Ask — it's a small product with a human attached.
